Benjamin Johnson

Director

Ben oversees the IPI training program, guides churches through the process of becoming recognized by the DOJ, and provides ongoing training and support to those churches. He is a DOJ partially accredited immigration counselor at Immigrant Hope – Bloomington, MN. Ben was part of the team that founded Immigrant Hope – Brooklyn, NY, providing family-based immigration legal services in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn from 2011 to 2013.
Ben also serves on the All People Team for the Evangelical Free Church of America. This team works to identify people groups that have been under-resourced or excluded from EFCA churches and ministries, then allocates resources, shares best practices, and advocates for structural changes to correct the under-representation. He lives in Crystal, MN with his wife, Sarah, and three sons.

Karla Hannant

Program Coordinator

Karla manages Immigrant Hope administrative tasks and oversees communications and logistics for IMMIGRANT PATHWAY Institute and other Immigrant Hope events and projects. She also teaches citizenship classes and serves at a shelter for recently released immigration detainees in San Antonio, TX. Karla and her husband, Barry, are members of the EFCA All People staff. They previously served as missionaries in Mexico for 10 years with EFCA ReachGlobal, working with pastors and church planters and with a home for abused girls. They have also lived all around the U.S. and frequently travel to visit their two sons and five grandchildren.
